Isle of Harris Gin
Isle of Harris Gin
New pricing and delivery costs from February 1st 2021. See menu below for more information.
The award-winning Isle of Harris Gin is made in our home village of Tarbert, every drop distilled in a small copper gin still known as 'The Dottach', before being bottled and sealed by hand.
A beautifully designed bottle captures the elemental nature of the Isle of Harris, while its contents reward the discerning gin drinker with refreshing maritime pleasures.
The inclusion of local, hand-harvested Sugar Kelp speaks of our island's deep connections to the sea while working with eight other carefully chosen botanicals.
Each bottle is sent directly from the distillery here in the Outer Hebrides and is also available for immediate pick-up across the UK through our Click & Collect service.
Includes tasting notes and serve information plus gift message if required.
45% VOL | 700ml bottle
NOTICE: Due the fast-moving Coronavirus crisis, our Click & Collect partners opening hours may be subject to change at short notice. We are working hard to keep their information up to date but please contact your pick-up point directly to avoid disappointment.
On The Nose
A well-defined juniper note with pine needles, immediately followed by the fresh citrus notes of bitter orange, lime and grapefruit. Develops a complex floral note of rose and wallflowers with crushed green herbs, coriander and gooseberry all underpinned by mixed spice. Sugar Kelp adds to the complexity and richness and gives a dry maritime note.
On The Palate
Refreshing, with good balance between the bitter juniper and pine and the sweet fruit flavours of mango, grapefruit and orange. A green herb flavour of crushed coriander develops. Distinctive and smooth with a dry, flinty taste.
On The Finish
Overall a long, clean finish. As the juniper and citrus fade away, sweet vanilla and black pepper remain with a gentle reminder of the sea.
Made with 9 carefully chosen botanicals:
Outer Hebridean Sugar Kelp seaweed
Macedonian Juniper Berries
English Coriander Seed
Cubebs / Javan Pepper
Bitter Orange Peel
Difficult times sometimes mean difficult decisions…
Following careful review, as of February 1st 2021 we have increased the prices of our Isle of Harris Gin range, for the first time since 2017.
The changes will allow us to maintain the highest quality of production in our far corner of the world, in the face of Brexit hurdles and rising prices in procurement, from bottles to botanicals.
The good news is that we’ve also been working hard to reduce our delivery costs and we’re delighted to now partner with DPD, one of the highest rated shipping companies in the UK.
As well as excellent service and tracking information, we’ve been able to reduce the price of delivery so online customers will now save an average of £3 on the usual shipping costs.
We’re also keen to support our amazing Click & Collect partners at this tricky time, and so our local pick-up service will be absolutely free to our customers from today onwards.
Finally, local island gin lovers from the Butt of Lewis to Barra, will now enjoy free delivery within the HS postcode area.
We understand that any price rise can be tough, but by doing this we can set out into 2021 with confidence and clarity as we seek to build an even better business here in Outer Hebrides.
There are lots of exciting new things to bring you in 2021 and we hope you’ll continue to be part of our plans as we bring our award-winning gin, and forthcoming single malt whisky, to the world.
Thanks as always for your ongoing enthusiasm and support as we ride out these storms together.
