Note: We are working to reduce our packaging footprint and as a result, the core Hearach single malt whisky now ships without a presentation box. This change will save the equivalent of 43 tonnes of cardboard a year, and over 88km of box material if laid end to end.
Batch: HE 00015 24
Each batch has natural variation due to individual choice of casks and differing 'marrying' periods.
The Hearach is the first, historic single malt whisky from our island distillery and the Isle of Harris. Like the iconic Harris Tweed cloth created here for generations, our first historic whisky is woven from the hands of island people and the place we call home, intimately intertwining to produce an elegant spirit of complexity and character. This special connection between people and place continues to this day with every drop of The Hearach created by Isle of Harris hands here in the Outer Hebrides. Our recipe uses spirit matured in ex-bourbon casks, oloroso and fino butts.
700ml / 46% ABV

HE 00015 24: Tasting Notes
“The smell of burning peat instantly connects me with welcoming firesides of aunts and grandparents. The taste is refined, with a beautiful sweetness, like wildflower nectar. There’s a freshness, sea-air blown over summer machair lands, and boiled ‘church sweeties’ surreptitiously slipped into the hand on an island Sabbath. Pandrops, Werther’s Originals, Barley Sugars. Everything changes in the glass, there’s an unfolding of hard-to-pin-down flavours. It’s a reflective dram, bringing thoughts of my late uncle Neil, a shepherd, weaver, and crofter, to whom I raise a glass. He would have loved this whisky as much as I do.”
