A Calmer Season

Posted on

Find shelter from the storm, as a season of calm lies ahead.

Somehow 2021 is already coming to a close, and the months have flown by as communities across the country reconnect after lockdown life.

With vaccinations in place, it feels like there's some light at the end of the tunnel, and we’re looking forward to spending the coming season with friends and family.

But, as ever there's the ceaseless cycle of round-the-clock demands to endure and the endless social media barrage seems unstoppable.

So, it’s as important as ever to find time to take time out...

There are places to escape to, wherever you call home this season.

As the frantic festivities begin to build, we want to remind you that life takes time, and encourage you to find your quiet moments amidst the coming chaos.

There are simple pleasures to be found, far from the hustle and bustle of busy high streets. There are more mindful ways to mark the season that can give just as much joy.

If recent years have taught us anything, it’s that we all agree on what matters most. Connection and community, friends and family, health and happiness, and a deeper gratitude for the small things in life.

Find your spaces and special places if the festive pressure gets too much.

For us here in Harris, it’s the feeling the warmth of an open fire on a cold day and time well spent with those we love. It’s the taste of salt-spray from the sea and walking empty beaches with a best friend.

It’s discovering those peaceful places which provide a chance to recharge, these wide-open spaces which inspire us to reflect.

So, try to find calm when and where you can, be still amidst the storm, and find peace in the present. Escape, even if it’s just for a minute and take the opportunity to reconnect again with what’s important in life.

Warmth in the midst of wild weather and an appreciation of simple pleasures

To help, we invite you to get closer to the Isle of Harris, where we’re setting out to celebrate at a different pace once again this year.

If it helps ease the pressure a little, our online store is full of great gifts to share and we'll even add a handwritten personal message for good measure.

The only thing to worry about is our last shipping date to get the journey from our shores to you loved ones doors underway.

Enjoy a calmer season and don't miss the boat, just order by December 16th!
